5 simple tips to help you upgrade your gift- giving so that you give meaningful gifts that are remembered 100% of the time. One of the most popular sentiments that leads clients to us is the desire to give a really thoughtful gift to someone they want to show appreciation, admiration or affection.

Showing appreciation remain an integral aspect of human relationships. This is true for wedding, welcome, hostess, client, corporate or personal gift-giving. But in a world where everyone seems to have so much, it can be a bit challenging to come up with a meaningful gift that aptly captures your sentiments. As a gifting company, Braata Box and Co. has some time-tested principles to help you give good gifts you can be proud of.

1. Start with what you know.

Sometimes all it takes is 5 minutes to deliberately think about what you know about this person that you want to give a gift to. So grab some paper and a pen and start to list the things that come to mind and how you want the present to make them feel.

2. Be mindful of your budget

You always want to be comfortable with your gift giving. If you wind up spending more than you can afford the gift ends up being a burden to you and the joy of giving gets overshadowed by spender’s remorse.

3. Err on the side of variety

If you are not quite able to pinpoint a single item, consider a mix of smaller items that add up to something substantial. You also increase your odds of including something that your gift- recipient will absolutely love or at the very least spread what they like across a few items.

4. Always get personal

Not by giving intimate items, but by including a personal note. Handwritten notes are probably the most inexpensive yet effective way of adding meaning to any gift.

5. It’s the thought (and the presentation) that counts.

Hurried gift-wrapping is the easiest tell-tale that a gift was not carefully planned. The presentation of a gift significantly adds to how a gift is perceived. If you can somehow add personalisation, that’s extra credit for effort.
