Shipping Policy

At present our shipping options are limited, however we are working on expanding them in the upcoming weeks.

When you purchase from our website, your product will be ready for you in 5 working days from date of purchase.

We will begin to offer island wide delivery via Jamaica Post on June 22, 2017.

We offer international shipping to the USA, Canada and the UK, however rates are calculated manually. We charge a flat fee at time of purchase and communicate with the customer about next steps.

Return & Refund Policy

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.

Returns

You have 7 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

Your item must be in the original packaging.

Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds

Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned
item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment).

You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer’s policies.

Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non­refundable.

If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Why do you offer plans and which one should I choose?

We offer three basic plans – a month-to-month plan, 3 month pre-pay and 6 month pre-pay. Our month-to-month is a pay per issue option, requires no up-front commitment at a slightly higher unit cost. Our 3 month pre-pay option charges a discounted price for an immediate charge of 3 months of boxes and while the 6 month pre-pay offers the best discount rate for a one time charge for 6 months of boxes.

Can I know what products I will receive before I purchase?
No. A part of the excitement is the element of surprise that we offer. Based on each box’s theme, we curate the best products to tell a story of Jamaican excitement and introduce you to products that we feel you will find valuable.

 

What is included in each month’s Braata Box?
Braata Box is an assortment of Jamaican products that we know will make you happy. Packaged in an eco-friendly post-consumer kraft box, the 5-7 items are products for which you will find everyday use as well as special intrigue. We will introduce you to the makers behind each product and bring a bit of Jamaican culture and heritage as part of the package.
Our products are a curated selection of fair-trade, eco-friendly and small-business made products from Jamaican companies that believe that “one han was the other”.

 

Can I buy a one-time Braata Box as a gift?
Of course you can. Braata Boxes are ideal for the Jamaican living at home or abroad or for the Jamaican at heart. You can even choose to gift a multiple month subscription for this special friend, you will be sure to feel great about this decision.

 

What if I really love one of the products you’ve found in a Braata Box?
First thing, we are happy to have helped with the introduction! We plan to offer a marketplace for the individual products that make up our box, but that’s not yet ready. So until then, we will do our best to connect you to the vendor’s existing online presence.

 

Your company is based in Jamaica, but you how do we get our products?
We use the best shipping options available to us and are confident in our ability to ship to you in various parts of the world. Because we are just getting started, we will be focusing on shipping to the US, however we will be adding new options as we grow and expand.

 

What is Braata Box? How Does it work?
Braata Box is a monthly subscription box that was started to showcase the abundance of quality Jamaican products that local businesses create. Monthly, we curate products that evoke nostalgia to bring a taste of Jamaicaness through the assortment of products we pull together just for you.

 

When will I receive my first box?
If you subscribe within our ordering period, your box will ship on the next thursday following your order. We like to give our shipping service 2 weeks, so expect product within that timeframe after you have been notified of its departure.

 

When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged on the day you sign up. if you selected the month-to-month plan iit is charged on the 25th of each subsequent month. For our other plan you are billed on the 25th of the month following expiration unless you cancel beforehand.

 

Is the shipping cost included in product price?
No. The shipping cost for regular subscriptions have the shipping cost added during checkout, this is to facilitate the variation in shipping cost based on your location.
